What is a French Hanger?

French lift is one of the non-surgical face lift procedures performed to tighten the skin and raise the tissue under the skin surface with flexible threads made of polyester on the inside and silicone on the outside, compatible with the skin texture. This facelift procedure, also known as the French thread lift, is known as the French lift because it was developed in France.

Skin that has lost its collagen balance and elasticity may need intervention to regain its former appearance. If left to its own devices, the skin may deform and sag much faster than it should. French hanger application, which performs functions such as hanging, pulling and straightening, prevents sagging of the skin. It helps maintain the oval shape of the face and remove sagging. A face whose oval shape is largely preserved can look younger and fresher.

The threads used in the procedure remove sagging wrinkles in the facial area almost painlessly. In some applications, biocompatible PDO threads, which are mostly used in cardiovascular surgery, are also preferred. Since the materials used in this method are very compatible with the human body, it can also be used in partial facial paralysis. While rejuvenation begins to be noticed immediately after the application, the real effect occurs between 4 and 6 weeks.

How to Apply French Hanger?

French sling application is performed under local anesthesia for 45 minutes to 1 hour. This less invasive procedure involves minimal incisions compared to a surgical facelift. The doctor and the patient decide together about the details of the application and the application area. Planning is completed after the patient is informed of all the details. Before the application, patients should stay away from blood thinners for a while. The skin should be clean, rested and ready on the day of the procedure.

During the procedure, threads are placed under the skin. It is preferred that the fixing point of the thread be on the head, above the ear. The threads are placed under the skin on both sides of the face as 2 or 3 pairs of thread hangers, depending on the patients’ needs. Since the scalp behind the ear covers the scars of the application, the procedure is completed without using stitches. After the threads are tightened, a symmetrical lifting effect is created on the patients’ face. During the first six months, the skin tightens as the threads help increase natural collagen synthesis.

After the procedure, slight swelling, bruising or pain may occur in the application area. This condition can be eliminated by using ice compresses and painkillers. The healing process is continued with prescribed painkillers and other medications. Patients can continue their daily lives after the application. Normal recovery time varies between 2 and 15 days.

Although it varies depending on the general health status of the patients, a single session is usually sufficient for the French sling application. The procedure can be repeated after an average of five years.
